Advanced Narcotics Investigations Course

Length: 5 days (40 hours)

Designed For: All active Sworn and Certified State or Local Law Enforcement Officers.

Prerequisites: Be currently assigned to Narcotic/Vice Investigation Units/Teams or Task Force and who have written affidavits for search warrants, worked with informants, conducted surveillance, made arrests and provided expert testimony regarding narcotic/vice violations.

OR

Within one year of the date of class, previously been assigned to a Narcotic/Vice Unit/Team or Task Force and have written affidavits for search warrant, conducted surveillance, made arrests and provided expert testimony regarding narcotic/vice violations.

OR

A Supervisor who is assigned to a Narcotic/Vice Unit/Team or Task Force for at least 1 year, prior to the date of the class, and who has supervised officers who have written affidavits for search warrants, conducted surveillance, made arrests and provided expert testimony.

OR

Be a Prosecutor who is presently assigned to a Narcotics Unit/Taskforce or whose “Case Load” is primarily the prosecution of Drug Cases.

Certification: This course is POST certified in the states of Mississippi and Georgia and accepted for certification in other states.

Description: This Advanced Narcotic Course is designed to greatly enhance the ability of the investigator so he can successfully conduct a major investigation by exposing the officer to a variety of methods used to develop, prepare, analyze and coordinate the investigation and introduce them to the most up to date techniques. This course will include how to coordinate and work with multiple agencies; legally acquired court order electronic surveillances and intercepts (T-3) and why they should coordinate with Federal, State, and local agencies as well as prosecutors in order to ensure successful prosecutions.
