Meth Lab Recognition and Safety For First Responders

Designed For: This course is designed for Uniformed Patrol, Emergency Medical Technicians, Firefighters, and any other personnel who are first responders.

Prerequisites: None.

Certification: This course is POST certified in the states of Mississippi and Georgia and accepted for certification in other states.

Description: This course is specifically designed to provide First Responders knowledge on the dangers and immediate hazards of clandestine methamphetamine laboratories and indoor marijuana growing. In addition the students will be provided an understanding of manufacturing, distribution, packaging, and use of methamphetamine and marijuana, including the most common concealment methods in residences and vehicles.

Topics include:

•  Identification of clandestine laboratory hazards

•  Identification of indoor growing of marijuana hazards

•  Methamphetamine distribution, price, packaging, and use

•  Use of violence towards officers and others

•  Drug endangered children

•  Concealment of indoor grows and methamphetamine laboratories

•  Concealment of marijuana, methamphetamine, and cocaine in vehicles
