NGB Counterdrug Safety Course

Length: 5 days

Designed For: This course is designed for National Guard Counterdrug personnel wanting to increase their safety awareness level.

Prerequisites: Please contact Registration Coordinator CPT Gary Crist at 601.679.2486 or by email at gary.l.crist@us.army.mil.   Attendance is limited to National Guard personnel assigned to a NGB Counterdrug Program.

Certification: This course is POST certified in the states of Mississippi and Georgia and accepted for certification in other states.

Description: This course increases the student's awareness of safety measures and precautions that must be taken to enhance the safety level of personnel assigned to the NGB Counterdrug Program.

Topics covered include:

• ARNG/ANG safety programs
• Risk Management
• Unit Safety Management
• Safety SOPs
• OPSEC
• Counterdrug mission hazards and safety
• Environmental hazards
• OSHA
• Clandestine labs, indoor grows
• HAZMAT
• Pre-accident plans
• Weapons and vehicle safety
• Stress and fatigue management

Students will have an opportunity to analyze safety situations and make recommendations for increased safety measures. They will leave with a renewed understanding and motivation to ensure that an efficient safety program is in effect in their units.
