Advanced Technical Services/Video Surveillance Operations

Designed For: This course is designed for the officer, investigator, or supervisor who is seeking to keep pace with the rapidly changing technology and skills required by those who use, or supervise the use of clandestine investigative audio, RF and video surveillance equipment systems in support of covert drug investigations.
Prerequisites:
- Applicants MUST have completed the RCTA Basic Technical Services/Video Surveillance Operations course, or a similar entry-level program.
- Or have sufficient on-the-job technical surveillance training and experience.
- Proof of completion/experience must be provided with application.
Certification : This course is POST certified in the states of Mississippi and Georgia and accepted for certification in other states.
Description:
- Learn more advanced hands-on-the-surveillance equipment skills
- Be exposed to new and/or innovative technical investigative operational techniques
- Improve on, or learn new investigative electronics craftsmanship and fabrication skills
- Provides new, and/or updated technical information and additional hands-on operator skills
- Instruction will be provided on new battery and power supply technology
- Instruction on how to design and fabricate new RF transmitter and video concealment devices
- Instruction on how to properly install, and operate affordable audio and video transmissions systems, to include low power, yet relatively long range RF, microwave, hard-wire(coaxial; twisted pair; fiber optics & telephone line)transmission links
- Instruction as to how to build from kit form various investigative electronic devices that the student can keep and use in future drug investigations
- Instruction will be provided on special IR and laser illuminators; remote controlled operations of equipment; use of long range (telescope) optics; balanced audio recovery systems; digital audio and video recorders and recording mediums; digital image photography and video enhancement and computer-generated audio processing and filtering techniques.
- Each student will also receive, build, and get to keep a variable-power, 110 VAC bench-technician's soldering station as well as a 19 piece professional grade electronics tool kit.
