
REGIONAL COUNTERDRUG TRAINING ACADEMY
Length: 5 days
Designed for: This course is designed for those officers or investigators, who need to install covert audio, RF and/or video surveillance equipment in any type of undercover, marked or unmarked police vehicle, including trucks. Students are encouraged to bring a vehicle for covert installations.
Prerequisites : None
Certification: This course is POST certified in the states of Mississippi and Georgia and accepted for certification in other states.
Description: This one week course will teach:
The officer how to remove and replace interior and exterior automotive components and accessories
The principles of 12 VDC automotive electronics and how to avoid damaging automotive computers and like equipment
How to “run” and conceal DC power, audio, RF and video cables
Identifying the best places in a vehicle to install and conceal investigative microphones, audio amplifiers, switchers, cameras and IR illuminators
How to fabricate special concealment devices for “stand-alone” surveillance systems which can be moved quickly from one vehicle into another
How to build his or her own audio amplifier and junction box
How to minimize or avoid RFI and EMI by installing special filters and chassis grounds
How to design and fabricate special disguised RF antennas for use in vehicles
How to install surveillance equipment that can be covertly used to record activities and conversations that occur either inside, or outside the vehicle, or both
Each student will receive and keep a special-purpose 15 piece vehicle install tool kit which will be used throughout the course.
