NGB COUNTERDRUG AVIATION POLICY COURSE

 

Length: 5 days (40 Hours)

Designed For: National Guard personnel who serve as ARNG Pilots in Command ( PIC ), ANG pilots and Mission Systems Officers ( MSO ) performing Counterdrug duties at all levels in CONUS.

Prerequisites: NONE.

Certification: this course is POST certified in the states of Mississippi and Georgia and has been accepted for certification in other states.

Description:

This is an advanced Counterdrug (CD) training course for National Guard personnel who serve as ARNG Pilots in Command ( PIC ), ANG pilots and Mission Systems Officers ( MSO ) performing Counterdrug duties at all levels in CONUS. Through classroom instruction and case study, this course focuses on legal, doctrine, policy and regulatory, operational constructs for planning and conducting CD aviation missions. Upon course completion students will be capable of serving in a leadership, staff or operations role in the development, planning and execution of aviation support to LEA Counterdrug operations.

Objectives:

At the end of the course, students will be knowledgeable in:

•  NGR 500-2/ANGI 10-801

•  Annual State Counterdrug Plan development

•  Legal issues and case law

•  Recent LEA support missions

•  CD mission approval process

•  Mobile surveillance and marijuana eradication strategies, threats, and techniques

•  Interagency communications

•  Sensor equipment employment

•  Pre-mission Planning and coordination with LEAs for joint operations

•  Operational Performance Data and Reports

•  Public Affairs
